Edible Etiquette
- for grades 5 and 6
Edible Etiquette is our new program for middle grades with a focus on dining skills, and with plenty of time to practice respect, personal responsibility and excellent manners. The program consists of a series of four sessions, each one hour in length. While our traditional Cotillion and Supper Club programs include partners and dancing, our new Manners Series allows our young members to practice in a smaller groups in a setting that allows for physical distancing as necessary.
As you can see from the description, each session of Edible Etiquette is based upon a particular theme which will help the children to build confidence in navigating social situations from casual dinners at home to restaurants to more formal celebratory events. At this age, children begin to take more notice of how their behavior affects those around them and they want to know what is expected so that they can avoid mistakes and embarrassments. The skills practiced at Edible Etiquette will help empower them rise to a variety of occasions, and leave an excellent impression behind.
Proper table manners will be part of each session allowing children to practice good posture, proper use of utensils and group conversation, all under the watchful eyes of our expert instructors. The final session will include a three course dinner for more in-depth dining skills practice. Each session will include fun activities, role playing, games and prizes to make both learning and practicing fun for everyone!
