Modern Manners - For Grades 7 & 8

Modern Manners is our new program for older grades with a focus on building character and confidence, with discussion and practice of respect, personal responsibility and excellent manners. The program consists of a series of four sessions, each one hour and fifteen minutes in length. While our traditional Cotillion and Supper Club programs include partners and dancing, our new Manners Series allows our members to practice in smaller groups and in a setting which allows for physical distancing as necessary.

As you can see from the description, each session revolves around a particular theme which will help the children to build confidence in navigating a variety of future social and business situations.

At this age, young people begin to think about who they are, who they want to become, and the image they want the world to see. The topics presented and the skills practiced at Modern Manners will help give them food for thought, and empower them rise to a variety of occasions and leave an excellent impression behind.

Proper table manners will be part of each session allowing members to practice good posture, proper use of utensils and group conversation, all under the watchful eyes of our expert instructors. The third session will include a three course dinner for more in-depth dining skills practice. Each session will utilize fun activities, role playing, games and prizes to make both learning and practicing fun for everyone!
